Youth
First Presbyterian Church is strongly committed to youth ministry. We seek to minister to the youth of the congregation and to the youth of the surrounding communities through separate Middle School and High School groups.
We work with families in helping their kids grow in the Christian faith during their teen years.
In a time when so many are concerned about the powerful negative influence of peer pressure during adolescence, FPC provides positive Christian peer groups andĀ role models, numerous service and ministry opportunities, and lots of good fun for active kids.
Students who become involved in FPCs youth programs will find solid Bible teaching, friendship, spiritual encouragement, a purpose for living that is larger than themselves, good fun which is not chemically induced, and moral support in dealing with the challenges of the outside world.
For the youth of our church:
Our goal is that youth who have been raised in the church will demonstrate a working knowledge of the Bible and a vibrant and dynamic faith.
For the youth of the community:
Our goal is to provide programs and activities where non-churched students can enjoy meeting Christians and hear the claims of Jesus Christ presented in an attractive and understandable manner.
Youth Ministry at FPC is lead by a full-time youth director, Jon Evans, a staff of dedicated adult volunteers, and an active church committee overseeing and supporting the youth ministry.
