Worship
Worship is all about God–His greatness and glory. Worship is about who He is, what He has done, is doing and will do as the Father, Son and Spirit intersect the lives of His people. When we stop to ponder His majesty the only right response is what we would call worship. Ascribing value, worth, honor and praise to God–that is worship. What does that really look like though? How do we ascribe matchless worth to the incomparable God?
More Than Words
It means that words truly aren’t enough. God isn’t interested in simple religious ritual (see Isaiah 1:12-17). Jesus isn’t seeking half-hearted lip-service (see Matthew 15:7-9). He is worth more than that. He is after whole-hearted, affectionate, allegiant lives that are surrendered to Him (see John 4:23-24). As a man once said, “Worship is bowing all that we are before all that God is.”
