God’s words are not idle words, they are powerful, life-giving, life-sustaining, life-changing words (see Deuteronomy 32:46-47; Isaiah 50:4; Hebrews 4:12). God commands us as His people not to be mere hearers of His words, but doers of them (James 1:22). Our prayer is that God’s word, as it is read and preached on Sunday mornings, will reverberate through our heads, hearts and hands throughout each and every day.
