Local Missions

Let’s Not Forget Our Own Neighborhood

In Acts 1:8 Jesus commanded his disciples, “And you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in Judea, in Samaria and to the ends of the earth.”  Jesus described for his disciples how their ministry would move out in concentric circles, but would begin in their own neighborhood.  The same should be true for us today.

FPC desires to grow in its involvement in meeting local needs in our own communities.  Currently, FPC is involved in the services of Wellspring House to help families move out of poverty, and is working with other local churches and community members in Ipswich to form the Ipswich Dinner Bell, a bi-monthly meal on the second and fourth Monday of every month to feed families in the area.  Our Deacons are also serving individuals and families to help meet needs as they are made aware.

As we pray for God’s Kingdom to advance on the North Shore and in all the world, let’s not forget our own neighborhoods.
