Text: Matthew 2:1-12
Theme: There is a spectrum of responses to the humble birth of baby Jesus. For some, Christmas elicits mere sentimentality, while for others, mention of news of the Baby’s birth draws out resistant anger. But still others respond with humble wonder and awe. Matthew’s story of the seeking magi illuminates these three responses, but in the end, it shows that even diligent seekers are themselves sought. How will we respond this Christmas?
